ABOUT ME
A UK & East Africa based artist.
I’m a travelling artist from Peter Tavy, Devon, specialising in hand-painted maps, wildlife illustrations and large-scale murals.
In 2023, a severe chronic migraine forced me to step away from my work as a film producer in London and radically slow down. After nearly a year of recovery, it became clear that city life was no longer for me. To rediscover my limits—and my sense of direction—I began travelling alone.
Over the following year, I lived and worked across Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Japan, Portugal, South Africa and Namibia before eventually arriving in Kenya. While staying on a friend's farm, I found myself lost (again) and returned with an unexpected solution: I made her a map.
That moment reshaped my practice. Since then, I’ve created illustrated maps for camps, lodges, conservancies, islands, farms, wedding venues and honeymoons, as well as deeply personal story maps that chart a person's life, memories and adventures.
Having spent much of my life exploring wild places, I draw inspiration from firsthand experiences of wildlife, landscapes and remote environments. Whether wandering through the African bush or kayaking solo through the mangroves of a remote island, these encounters continue to inform my work. Through my maps and illustrations, I aim to capture not only geography, but the character, ecology and spirit of a place.
At the heart of my practice is a passion for adventure, conservation and storytelling. Through each piece, I hope to create a deeper connection between people, place and the natural world.
If you have an idea—big, small, or slightly off-track—I’d love to hear it.
